Nursing Practicum
Are you enrolled in an online nursing program and interested in doing your practicum
at Augusta University Medical Center (AUMC)?
Most online nursing programs require students to complete a practicum in a medical setting so they can gain practical experience while observing seasoned
professionals on the job. Completing a practicum with AUMC will help students transition
into the professional world after they complete their nursing degree.
Requirements
- There has to be an memorandum of understanding (MOU) or contract with AUMC/AUMA and your school. Creating a new contract can take
up to 90 days. Here is a list of some of the common schools that have students rotate here, but it is not exhaustive.
- The student or the school is responsible for finding and securing a preceptor, NOT AUMC/AUMA.
